Are you fed up using your Betterment account, and as such you wish to cancel (close) or even deactivate your account?

There are various reasons why you may wish to delete your Betterment account among all of them is email spamming by the company.
Meanwhile, when you manage your investments through Betterment, all the assets and securities in your portfolio are strictly under your ownership. And above all, the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC) protects all Betterment accounts (up to$500,000 per account).
How To Delete Betterment Account
NOTE: Before you can close an account, you must fully remove any funds from the account.
Follow these steps below:
Step 1. Log into your Betterment account on any browser of your choice.
Step 2. Click on Settings.
Step 3. Click on Account.
Step 4. Now, once you there, click the three dots to the right of the specific investment account(s) you wish to close.
Please note also that your account can only be closed, but not truly deleted.
Note, you can only delete your account by sending an email to the company, requesting them to delete your account from their database.
Therefore, follow these steps below:
Step 1. Open your email account that is registered with the application or website.
Step 2. Now compose an email and enter the email address support@betterment.com.
Step 3. In the Subject section, type “REQUEST TO DELETE MY ACCOUNT”.
Step 4. Now write an email requesting them to delete your account from their database, and to wipe all your information with them, if any.
